Scott Kotchko Vice President

Scott Kotchko, Vice President at Whitman Insight Strategies, is an expert at developing positioning strategies for political, corporate and non-profit clients looking to promote their candidacies, brands, and issues.

Throughout 2009, Mr. Kotchko worked alongside Bernard Whitman and Douglas Schoen as pollster to Mayor Michael Bloomberg's successful reelection campaign, advising on candidate positioning, and developing a uniquely integrated polling/ad testing/voter contact program that was critical to the Mayor's victory.

Mr. Kotchko is adept at designing research programs that produce actionable insights and strategic guidance for his clients who have included AIG, Bayer, Wachovia, Major League Baseball, Motorola, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, Genentech, The National Beer Wholesalers Association, The Robin Hood Foundation, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. His work on the creation and development of the ExactCast© consumer segmentation, messaging, and media channel process was instrumental in Unilever naming the technique a "Global Best Practice" in 2009. In 2010, Mr. Kotchko was the recipient of a Gold Ogilvy Award for his work on the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America's "Community of Veterans" campaign.

Mr. Kotchko holds a master's degree in Government with a concentration in Political Communication from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations, also from The Johns Hopkins University. He resides in New York City and is an avid fan of the New York Jets.
