Take Care New York
NYC department of health and mental hygiene
The challenge: To improve New York City residents’ health, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene sought to develop a public education campaign to persuade NYC residents to seek preventive healthcare.
The solution: Whitman Insight Strategies conducted qualitative and quantitative research among Staten Island residents and doctors to determine the optimal direction for messaging and to identify the most effective communication strategies for the Take Care New York campaign on Staten Island.
The results: We found that both Staten Island residents and doctors were looking for more engaging and wide-ranging dialogue about preventive health care. To promote the Take Care New York program, we created eight direct mail pieces and recommended additional mechanisms to assist doctors in providing regular preventive healthcare to their patients.
